Why I write and share articles?
I am a millennial born and raised in Toronto. While both my partner and I have great jobs that is just the beginning of financial security. While rewarding and well paying jobs are an amazing start there is so much more to creating a prosperous financial future.
I am fortunate to have two parents who taught me the value of money, the importance of saving, and how to invest. These set me off on the right foot and gave me the knowledge and confidence ask informed questions. But there is so much more to learn.
The news regularly portrays millennial as big spenders. I think that is only one side of the story. I hear from many friends, colleagues, and acquaintances that they don’t know how much to save, what to invest in, or where to start securing their financial future.
We are fortunate enough to have access to virtually unlimited information but it comes at a cost – analysis paralysis. With so much conflicting information out there it can feel impossible to make a choice.
I am going to make concepts as easy as possible with actionable next steps.
This blog is my effort to share what I know and continue learning and sharing as I go. I hope to demystify personal finance and continue on the path of lifelong financial literacy together. Leave my questions, comments, or things you want to learn about and I will do my best to respond.
Disclosure – this blog reflects what I have done with my own personal finances. I am not a financial adviser or a financial expert. Please do not make your financial decisions based on what I write. If you need advice talk to a professional financial planner.
